Special administrator client that shows all users in the organisation, with detailed information for quick views to who is signed in or not, hours on Lync perhaps seperated via presence.Ability to manage other user accounts directly for call forwards, etc.
This is just an Idea, please ignore if already implemented, but it will be good if we get to know about the meeting title the person is attending when we hover over the person contact in Lync contact.
I am developing bot using Lync 2013,so whenever user enter any character like :), :( , :D it becomes emoticons. Lync 2013 keeps them automatically turning characters I type into little face, cups of coffee, and other stupid icons so I want to control the turn off emoticons through code using lync 2013 api.
is there any way to control using lync api ?
Using lync 2013 api,I am trying to send image using the below code. actually image is transferring to participant, but it is not showing as inline/embed image instead storing in to temporary location "C:\Users\testlync\Documents\My Received Files". Is there any way to display as inline/embed image in the conversation windows itself. sample code : AutomationModalities _ChosenMode = AutomationModalities.FileTransfer ...more »
I'd really like to see Gamification of all the more unused features of Lync such as Video chat, group chat and such like. By doing this, adoption would increase along with end user learning and encourage the entire solution to be used instead of bits of it, such as IM etc.
Ever since I can remember, I never understood why Lync can not just use the same contacts in outlook, why do we need a second list with exactly the same information ? (Alas uneditable), duplication of data is never a good thing. One contact list is all we need, as suggested below, maybe with a checkbox or a setting to allow lync connection, instead of a completely different list that is always out of sync with your current ...more »
One big issue with Lync is, IMO, the client version fragmentation. If you run the great script from Pat Richards "Get-CsConnections" in a one or two years old Lync deployments, I bet you can see many version of PC and Mac clients. The reason could be many: the customer do not have WSUS, or maybe no one correctly manage it! The question is: if I can centrally manage the firmware for IP Phone (LPE and 3PIP), why I cannot ...more »
The Lync client SDK has the ability to pull 15 or so ad fields, display name, department, manager, etc. I would like the ability to pull a variable specified AD attribute.
I have seen requests by legal and security departments that wish for their to be more visibility, or more specifically warning, for a user that is about to communicate with a federated partner. While a disclaimer helps with some of that, disclaimer messages are sometimes glossed over. It would be incredible if perhaps the conversation window and tab of a federation partner conversation could be shaded differently from ...more »
Right now, if you want custom presence for your org, you must create an XML file, place it in an accessible location (such as 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Web Components\External Website' on each of your Front Ends), then configure Lync by using Set-CsClientPolicy. I think a better solution would be cmdlets that let you add/set/remove customer presence settings, and the XML file management would be automatic. ...more »
How about a drop-down box for the Lync client SIP sign-in ?
Let's call it Lync Client - "Consultant Edition" :-)
Entries in drop down box should be pulled from SIP profiles on device.
I have multiple SIP profiles for multiple clients and am forever flipping between profiles.
please allow optional display of a contact's actual time at their location under their name. This must be take from computer's set time and time zone. That would allow for people who travel to set a new time zone and then this would always be correct.
