All too often you may be searching for someone and unknowingly send a message to the wrong person with a similar name. Sometimes in the worst case, you may send a message about cats or something silly to a manager way higher up instead of that friend, with obvious repercussions. I propose a confirmation box (something along the lines of "Do you really wish to send this message to 'full name'") to show up for the first ...more »
allow the user (or administrator) to choose the camera on/off default status when answering a video call. Feature has changed with LYNC2010 and onwards vs OCS/MOC in this area - now when you answer an incoming video call, your camera is default disabled, and you need to activate on a per call basis.
Special administrator client that shows all users in the organisation, with detailed information for quick views to who is signed in or not, hours on Lync perhaps seperated via presence.Ability to manage other user accounts directly for call forwards, etc.
The Lync/Skype4B client and mobile app should have an option to update our linkedin profile link in our Lync/Skype4B profile as an optional feature. That will actually help the work groups and peers to stay connected more efficiently in a professional manner and able to know each other more closely.
Problem: Difficult to work on an urgent problem while having to check multi-chat window constantly to look for any question directed to yourself. Solution: Provide method to direct a comment to a specific person in the chat group. Everybody should see the comment but the targeted person should get a specific alerting signal (sound or color). Method could be "drag & drop" or autodetect of specific text like "@username:". ...more »
It would be great if there is an option for presenter to control or set in meeting options the screenview for attendees and maximize the screen size if needed. This is a desired feature by our sales team as they will like to maximize the the attendee view when performing demos. Currently go to meeting defaults to it.
To reach a busy line or an absent person when he comes.
An auto dialer, autodialer, or autodialler is an electronic device or software that automatically dials telephone numbers. Once the call has been answered, the autodialer either plays a recorded message or connects the call to a live person.
As a user, I'd like to see a visual cue when one of my contacts' status changes. For example, John goes offline, and just after modifying his status, the background color of his name turns some configurable color and then fades. The fade interval should be variable with a slider in the UI or some other means of changing the duration of the fade-out. This indication would immediately draw my eye to Lync and keep tabs ...more »
The computers in our office are top of the line aside from all having solid state HDDs. The start-up speed for Lync/Skype-for-Business is unacceptable. There must be some code clean-up in that bloated start up to speed things along.
Most of our users are disabling the program from starting up with the computer due to it's bogging it down!
Allow user to keep a number of stored photos in their profile. Then allow user to change photos on the fly - even in the middle of a Lync conversation session. Useful example would be to show photo based on what project or responsibilitites you are working on that week/month. On the lighter side, you could click to change the photo MOOD for the day, or even for the current conversation. Example, while discussing ...more »
I would verry much like to see better support for development in vb.net.
Not everyone likes SeePhotocopierbrand(C#)
Or at least a lot more examples for vb.net.
What would be awesome is to see an api to simply send I'M from my own applications or services instead of dropping email when something stops.
Or better yet to a persistent chat for IT staff etc.
Currently the "Call me at" dropdown only lists phone numbers from my Phones options. I would like to create a custom list of numbers to include each conference room that I typically use, and name each entry in the list accordingly. Even better if the dropdown could automatically contain the phone number of the conference room the meeting is being held in! This would be very helpful for meeting organizers / presenters. ...more »
Add the Alert Option to "Minimize new messages I receive". Default this to be check marked. When not check marked, a window will pop-up with a new message received.
This is useful when someone sends you a message while you're away from your computer, because it's not obvious otherwise.
Would be nice to store IM conversation history on the client side, similar to Trillian. Set up some retention window and local datastore for displaying the history. Not a fan of going into Outlook get Lync IM history.
Nothing worse than sending a IM at the wrong time when someone has their desktop shared.
It would be great if the status graphic could go a special color like blue or something.
