Allow Company search in Lync Client

If you file a contact in Outlook 2010 (Exchange 2010) as a Company (http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/q545/tobiefysh/Capture-1.png) then it is not searchable in Lync (http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/q545/tobiefysh/Capture-2.png) yet if you then file it "incorrectly" by putting the company name as the Last Name it works fine (http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/q545/tobiefysh/Capture-3.png).

I do not know if this... more »

Auto populate lync contacts from outlook Address book & skype

Skype does auto search address book/contacts and find who's connected. This fast tracks adoption.
It's kind of clunky that we say Lync integrates with Outlook contacts, but then you have to add lync contacts all over again one by one?!? People expect this to be at least like Skype, so ping each contact to Skype while you're at it. To make things 'usable' you have to make it easy to use from the beginning and show... more »

Options for editing Lync 2013 recordings

Like with Lync 2010 it would be nice to have the ability to trim start-end of recordings.

That was an obvious option as you usually start earlier and stop after meeting ends.

A better implementation would also allow to extract parts within the recording :-) But that might be a bit too much as the basic function is not there anymore :-(

Improve :: Invite By Name or Phone Number -

While active on a call (Lync to Lync, PSTN or conference), you can easily invite someone by Name or Phone number. It works fine if the dialled phone number is not an IVR enabled with multiple options or any other conferencing number which requires you to enter conferencing PIN/ID .

While trying to add someone using Phone Number with IVR on an existing active call, call connects to the number but fail to accept input... more »

skype for business / Lync Ews local PreferLocal autoconfig

Exchange team saw the need to cater for incorporating local autoconfiguration file. In outlook, There is a registry key used to tell outlook to use local autodiscovery XML file. This is particularly useful in migration scenarios. However Lync & SfB can only use DNS autodiscovery. It's worse with SfB, EWS cannot be turned off.
I would like to see this feature as it solves migration issues, without giving users authentication... more »

Define custom image / photo for contact

Currently Lync/O365 allows a user to choose their photo and everyone sees that image.
Some users don't have photos, some have obscure photos or random images. Given the status bar showing who's in a conversation shows only people's images (when in its minimal form / saving screen real estate) it's hard to tell who's in the conversation.

Being allowed to define an image for your contacts which overrides their image should... more »
