Lync needs phone number management showing ranges, available numbers (DIDs or ext), and who has what number. Right now I have to track this in excel and/or powershell reports.
There are several high profile missing features in Lync. Many are ideas submitted in this very forum. There is very little evidence that Microsoft is paying any attention to this site, but we plug away nonetheless. My idea is for Microsoft to actually do something about the missing features. Give the opportunity to a user to forward incoming calls if it is a busy state ( first call is going on ).
This is a common PBX feature and is requested by customers that are migrating it's infrastructure from old PBX and Lync Server
Forwarding incoming calls other then voice mail, if user is logged off and has not setup any forwarding,before logging off.
Could be such a system parameter to be set up or user by user.
I done it using MSPL script. Could be cool if MS can implement it in a easy way
For organizations that require password changes (which almost all do), when I change my Active Directory account password it does not update the password on Lync Phone Edition. Generally this isn't an issue as the phone keeps working, BUT, Exchange intregration on the phone becomes unavailable because my password is wrong. Most users find it annoing to recieve another call when they are already in call. Please implement busy on busy feature. Every stone aged PBX can do this!
Today there is no decent way of doing call recording on a multi-site Lync implimentation. You need to have appliances at each location to capture the packets. It would be helpful if there was a centralized method of getting all peer-to-peer and PSTN type traffic
The user should be able to forward calls based on different criteria:
• Caller number
• Caller is in the user’s contact List
• The presence status
• Caller Privacy Relationship
• Out of office (Exchange) status
The forwarded calls should be able to be transferred to the following destinations:
• Other Lync user
• UM voicemail
• PSTN/mobile number
• Team call group
ability to save a contact's number along with pauses and DTMF. In analogue systems you use a 'p' or something as a pause. example: 18005558383p1#p1234 would dial the 800number then after a pause press 1, then pause again and dial the pin of 1234
There is a delay when answering a response group call. This is exacerbated by Lync Phone Edition but it present with most endpoints.
There is no way to disable Hot key for audio call. By default it is set to Ctrl + Enter, which is used by default in many other clients. So, when you try to send IMs in Lync 2013 using Hot Keys ( "Enter" in Lync 2013 by default), you're making voice call instead of send message.
Please add to Lync Control Pannel a GUI interface to create and edit the Response Group Holiday Sets. There is a free good editor from Jamie Schwinn (http://waveformation.com/holidayseteditor/), why MS could not do the same with Silverlight?
May be useful if the Lync Mobile client could set the user's status "In a call" during a traditional call on the smartphone.
Would like the ability to have reports for business users. The current reporting in Lync 2013 is geared toward call quality, diagnostics, ... It would be great to have reports that show how many calls come into the company, how many calls are answered by each person, how many calls were offered to each person, average time to answer, average call time, call volume by hour, ... Conferencing is so core to the UCMA APIs and Lync as a whole, but there is no mechanism to transfer conferences once in the attendant console.
In the PBX world, the conference gets dropped and the caller is transferred. Something like that is better then nothing.
