Lync 2010 allowed you to make it much Thinner than 2013 does. Please allow us to make it thinner if we so please.
The red space in the following image would be ideal, there is nothing important that would be blocked from the UI's standpoint, so why is it limited to this width?
The computers in our office are top of the line aside from all having solid state HDDs. The start-up speed for Lync/Skype-for-Business is unacceptable. There must be some code clean-up in that bloated start up to speed things along.
Most of our users are disabling the program from starting up with the computer due to it's bogging it down!
It would be quite handy to be able to dock the dial pad when in a call instead of repeatably having to hover over the phone/mute button. I know you can use the number pad on a keyboard but sometimes button presses are not registered and you then have to find the window to get the dial pad up.
please allow optional display of a contact's actual time at their location under their name. This must be take from computer's set time and time zone. That would allow for people who travel to set a new time zone and then this would always be correct.
In the past, updates to the Lync client have come as Cumulative Update packs which could be rolled out in bulk to upgrade all users to a similar level of patches.
Now that the updates are dumped into the Windows Updates for Office 2013 batch, it's very hard to keep track of JUST the Lync Client updates. We'd like to maintain the Lync updates separately, as the larger CU packs.
Right now, you can configure different notification settings for messages submitted to chat rooms. But those settings also apply to your own messages. So, if you have the client running on multiple machines, you get the notifications for messages you submit. Would be nice if there was a 'disable notifications for your own messages' setting.
If you create a Group in Lync 2013 you can right click the group and send IM. Cool. It would be even better if the IM window name displayed the group name instead of "Conversation (x Participants)"
This is just an Idea, please ignore if already implemented, but it will be good if we get to know about the meeting title the person is attending when we hover over the person contact in Lync contact.
I am developing bot using Lync 2013,so whenever user enter any character like :), :( , :D it becomes emoticons. Lync 2013 keeps them automatically turning characters I type into little face, cups of coffee, and other stupid icons so I want to control the turn off emoticons through code using lync 2013 api.
is there any way to control using lync api ?
