GUI and PS command to see who is federating with me

When running open federation the only way of checking which organizations that are federating with your organization is to go into your edge server (in that workgroup in that DMZ), open the event viewer and look for Event ID 14601. Here you will find a list of all active domains (organizations) that are currently federating with you.

My suggestion is that this list should be visible in the Lync Server Control Panel... more »

Lync Meeting Invite

to be able to include in the invite automatically, the link to join via a web client, in other words, with "?sl=1" at the end of the meeting path.

Clients with closed federations who can't join the meeting using their Lync client, could then just click on the Web Client Only link.

If you could see perhaps with a number next to the name indicating how many current sessions are in progress, it would cut back on IMs that can wait or be sent with email.

Meet Now button in Lync via Outlook Web App / Exchange Online

I had fun writing this post last night and pushing the boundaries of Lync in OWA.
It got me thinking. The addition of a 'Meet Now' button on the Contact card, right beside "Schedule a meeting", would be perfect. It could create the meeting space, log you into the Lync Online meeting in your browser and send an invite to your Lync contact to join the meeting. The new Lync Online experience in the browser makes good use... more »
