All of our customers ask me if their Lync Mobile client could be used as a VoIP phone via company WiFi.
I think this could be a great feature to implement.
May be useful if the Lync Mobile client could set the user's status "In a call" during a traditional call on the smartphone.
The only supported clients for response groups are: Lync 2013
Lync 2010 Attendant
Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Attendant Lync Phone Edition
We would like to use phones such as a Wifi phone or a CX600 phone, or possible a mobile phone with the Lync client. All of these are not supported scenarios.
It is currently not possible to start a multiparty chat conversation from the Lync mobile clients.
Nor voice multiparty, nor video multiparty is possible.
I suggest it should be possible to make Lync Mobile a more "complete" client.
I would love to have the option to send an SMS/text message from the Lync 2013 client even if I needed to enter their SMS email address.
There should be an option on the mobile Lync client to disable response group ringing. Most times, I don't want to get response group calls on the mobile client.
Right now, mobile (at least Windows Phone), OWA, and Mac don't support custom presence. It would be nice if it was supported across all clients.
A feature is required that enables established calls to be "moved" from one device to another while in mid-call. This would enable users to take a call on their mobile device (VoIP or Cellular), walk into their office and continue the call on their PC Client.
Of course the reverse should be possible as well. with the call moving to the moble device over VoIP or Cellular.... more »
I would like to propose improvements for the Android client. Since this platform dominates the market is very important to improve the client at least at the point of the features availables for WP or IOS, like to view presentable content. Also joining a meeting using Lync 2013 mobile does not work. It send you to Play Store to download 2010 version.
In addition all the mobile clients are lacking essential features... more »
I'd love to be able to schedule Lync meetings directly from my mobile devices. Neither my RT or my Windows Mobile are suitable for full mobility as I have to either use the Desktop client or access OWA (on a small factor screen - not ideal)
It would be great to be able to answer response group calls from the mobile client. If they ring, you should be able to answer.
The Windows and Mac clients are able to utilize DNS records besides Lyncdiscover for automatic client configuration. Why can't the mobile client do the same? SRV records in particular would allow for much simpler namespace and certificate management in environments with a large number of SIP addresses.
So, I am on my computer. My conversations are saved. Then I needed to leave but kept my conversation going on my phone. I believe that after the conversation, in the settings of Lync Mobile, I should be able to choose which Email address represent my work Email so that all conversations from it is sent to my inbox which could then be ruled into my conversation history folder.
