Desktop/Application Sharing - User Control time limit

It would be good to see a conferencing policy option that has a time limit setting for how long someone is able to control a machine, once they have passed the time limit they can request control again, This would be a useful security feature, as users may forget someone has control to their machine leaving the machine exposed.

Allow Company search in Lync Client

If you file a contact in Outlook 2010 (Exchange 2010) as a Company (http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/q545/tobiefysh/Capture-1.png) then it is not searchable in Lync (http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/q545/tobiefysh/Capture-2.png) yet if you then file it "incorrectly" by putting the company name as the Last Name it works fine (http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/q545/tobiefysh/Capture-3.png).

I do not know if this... more »

LinkedIn profile link in Lync/Skype4B app/client

The Lync/Skype4B client and mobile app should have an option to update our linkedin profile link in our Lync/Skype4B profile as an optional feature. That will actually help the work groups and peers to stay connected more efficiently in a professional manner and able to know each other more closely.

Persistent chat notification settings for your own messages

Right now, you can configure different notification settings for messages submitted to chat rooms. But those settings also apply to your own messages. So, if you have the client running on multiple machines, you get the notifications for messages you submit. Would be nice if there was a 'disable notifications for your own messages' setting.

Pool and User-level PIN Policies

In Lync 2010/2013, our only options for PIN policies are Site-based or the Global policy. The PIN policies should have the same applicable levels as all of the other policies available in Lync (Global -> Site -> Pool -> User). When setting up conference phones (with an associated Exchange resource account), we could disable "Enforce device locking" for these accounts and allow calendar access without affecting the rest... more »

Lync Online: Persistent Chat Rooms

Persistent chat rooms are used a lot for call centers and work groups.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/lync-help/what-is-persistent-chat-HA102919098.aspx
This is a feature that users of Jabber systems have as a standard feature and Lync Online does not have. I love Lync Online, but that feature would be great for our organization.

Having persistent chat would allow us to have a group chat window, opened all the time,... more »

Transport Reliability Web Probe

There are some online tests for Network Reliability for O365 like this one:

http://trippsn2.online.lync.com/

This is useful to evaluate connection quality to Lync Online

I Would argue this is a very important feature that should be available for Lync On Premises as well

We have tools that help to acomplish similar tasks like Lync Pre Call Diagnostics and QoE Reports, but when it comes to anonymous users it does not... more »

Room system protected meeting participation

While the Lync room system is extremely easy to use there are cases where it would be nice to enable protected meeting participation. A possible example would be to have a checkbox in the meeting schedule options that protects room system. When a person joins from a room the system prompts them for the passcode. The passcode should be easy to remember like maybe a conferencing PIN.

Response Group Reports drill down into Abandoned

Out of the box the RGS reports are quite good. The biggest complaint I get is when customers see the abandoned calls percentage then ask "Why were these abandoned?".

You have to drill down into offered calls and work it out on the SIP response codes. It would be a lot better if there was an "Unanswered Calls" column that you could drill down into. This would just need to show the call and why it wasn't answered.... more »
