music on hold button on Lync Phone Edition should play music
Music on Hold button on Lync Phone Edition should play music even if there is no call queue involved.

calls should not dissappear when answered with lync phone edition with USB better together.
In the Transfer Directly to and Consult Then Transfer option it should have the option to pick the user's voicemailbox as well as their numbers.
For those of us working somewhere other than GMT-8 it would be nice if the phone edition support this to remove one more step in setting up phones.
The Aries phones are great but Lync does need a certified cordless device with presence & phonebook integration.
Polycom Kirk is part way there but expensive for small deployments.
It would be really useful to be able to share screens when users are on the attendant for remote support and
training
Lync Should have the ability to pair to the Lync Client with a IP address or MAC code rather than USB
The current response groups are incredibly basic. I'd like to see something a bit more advanced even if its not a full fledged solution.
1. Better queue monitoring
2. Listen in and call recording
3. Office closed for weather message function
4. Better reporting
There are tons of very expensive add on ACD/Contact center solutions but MS could make this part of the product functional with some small improvements.
It would be great, if the name announcement for EV-users supports recorded name instead ot that poor TTS of user displayname. Source of the recorded name could come from Exchange UM recorded name of the user

In addition to changing status to "in a meeting" based on calendar information, it would be nice to have the option to change status to "off work" based on work hours defined in Outlook.
It would be nice if you could assign hotkeys to common voice functions like hold, hangup, transfer & bring active call window to foreground, etc. This is a great feature in Skype that I use extensively.
NOTE: In Lync 2013 there is a Global/OS Wide hotkeys for:
-Answer = Win+A
-Mute = Windows+F4
Lync phone edition has an option to Consult then transfer to. The Attendant has a button for this as well, as well as the ability to hit CTRL+L to achieve the same thing. Microsoft decided to leave this button out of the Lync PC client. It was in the OCS client but not in Lync. I know callers can merge calls using "Current conversation", but a Consult then transfer to button would be so much easier.
All of our customers ask me if their Lync Mobile client could be used as a VoIP phone via company WiFi.
I think this could be a great feature to implement.
Most traditional PBX systems have the ability to place handsets into paging groups for announcements/pages. Having customers with paging requirements purchase entire dedicated overhead speaker paging systems is not an acceptable workaround.
