bring back timestamps on each post in persistent chat

Version 15.0.4420.1017; MSO: 15.0.4420.1017 puts a timestamp on each individual post in a persistent chat room. Version 15.0.4623.1000; MSO: 15.0.4615.1000 no longer has that behavior.

Bring back this feature but make it a configuration option for persistent chat.

Add file transfer to Persistent Chat

The server side supports it, since using the Lync 2010 Group Chat allows users to send files through Lync 2013. It's about time the Lync 2013 client provided this functionality as well.

more compact chat window

The chat window has too much whitespace. I'd prefer a much more compact chat window. For example, right now, chat entries look like this: [image] [Contact Name] [Chat Message] [Time] .......................................[More Message] .......................................[More Message] .......................................[More Message] I'd prefer that it looked more like this: [image] [Contact Name] [Time] [Long ...more »

Support of Federation in Persistent Chat

Persistent Chat is a fantastic tool for collaboration and knowledge sharing. What would make it better would be to have it support federation, allowing people from outside the Lync AD Domain to be members of Chat Rooms and participate. Anything in the near future?

Previous conversation history

The conversation history is saved in Outlook and viewable from the client but you cant see the chat history when you open a chatwindow with a user.

It would be good to see the last conversations and last Contact when you start to chat with a user.

The feature was included in Live Messenger and very useful.

Remove white space from Lync Persistent Chat interface

Lync 2013 Persistent chat has reduced the amount of meaningful information on the screen to about 25% of what is used to be in Chat 2010. Eg: On my screen now, I can see approx. 8 unique entries, but on 2010, on the same screen, I could see over 30 entries. This has (allegedly) made it prettier and aligned it with Outlook etc, but has made it significantly less user friendly, as you have to scroll back through conversations ...more »

Inline image paste in group chat

The same functionality to screen shot or use the snipping tool to grab and share and image should be available in the group chat without needing to do anything other than paste it in the group chat box.

Disable Inline Pictures

Would like to disable inline pictures within the chat windows. Chat window have far too much white space and would like to reduce this. I know there is an option within the Lync Client to disable photos, but this is an all or nothing option. The Lync application should still be able to show photos within the Buddy/Contact list and the title bar of the chat window. However I think it is but redundant to have the photo ...more »

Implement search / review of persistent chat

Looking for details from several days ago in a busy persistent chat is a complete pain. There is no way to search for relevant information, and no way to quickly view a particular time series. There should be a search function for persistent chats that allows you to specify a time period to search in and/or specific text. For organisations that use persistent chats as a way of logging our activities, this would be ...more »

Chat continuity from desktop to/from mobile

I am up and down from my desk and leave many Lync (Skype for Business) messages hanging. If I open my mobile version, the answers my desktop may have received do not show up on my phone and the previous comments in our discussion are not there, either. Have a persistent updating of both desktop and mobile to keep the conversations in sync only makes sense for people on the go (which is nearly everyone these days). I ...more »

Force users to follow persistent chat rooms

I would like a way to force a user to follow a chat room. I have some IT chat rooms that i use to broadcast important messages to the IT team so i don't have to over use the mail system. I have asked nicely for the IT members to follow the rooms but some still have not. i am not the manager of them so i can't "boss" them to do it, but if i could force them some way in the background that would make my life easier
