Tiled Buttons of Speed Dial and Most Frequently Used

As a VoIP user people expect to be able to visually see and set speed dial numbers and see them quickly around/near the number pad. If they have to click into favourites and scroll, it's not efficient. Please make an extension to the RHS of the dial pad for a) Speed Dial and b) Most Frequently Used so they can quickly call either Voice or Audio calls at a click. We have server code to set company wide favourites/contacts ...more »

Local phone book

There should be a function for a local address book on Lync phone edition. The sync between Lync phone edition and exchange leaves much to ask.

And if you set it up as a commonareaphone you have no address book at all.

Call Barge In

The ability for someone to 'barge-in' on a call was standard on most PBX's.

Managers want this feature so they can join a call when they need to, without having the person add them.

Lync Phone Edition (Permanent Call FWD)

The Lync Phone Edition Phones should be able to set permanent Call FWDs. Certain Receptions don't want a Response Group (they are temps and not real AD users) and need a device (Common Area Phone) that can be manually changed to route the reception call to various mobiles and ect...

Lync Phone Edition should be extendable

Developers should have hooks into the API (either through a connected Lync Client SDK or some other means) to push content to this device and/or interact with it better and be able to control its operations.

Common Area Phones - Missed Calls/Call redial

While CAP are good, actually using them can be a pain. Unlike UM integrated users where the missed calls and call history are logged, theres no way to tell who the last few calls were from or to quickly redial the last number

Set autoawaytime for phone edition.

There should be an option to set a autoawaytime for Lync phone edition.

It is ok with 15 minutes for a client logged in to a computer. Because you are active at the computer.

But you are not that active on a phone edition the same way so it goes yellow after a couple of minutes. And then other people wont try to call you since you look away.

Lync Phone Edition to support LHP2

Lync Phone Edition to support Lync 2013 Hosting Pack 2. It supports Lync 2010/2013 on prem and Lync Online. Phone ignores certificate SAN entries on Lync Online. Lync hosting providers have customers who want to use LPE devices but can't.

DECT and/or WiFi endpoint

The Aries phones are great but Lync does need a certified cordless device with presence & phonebook integration.

Polycom Kirk is part way there but expensive for small deployments.

802.1x support

It would be great to get support for 802.1x network authentication in phone edition including passthru on any additional Ethernet ports on the back of the phone.

As it stands at the moment if you have an 802.1x deployed you cannot use if with Phone edition and also need to double up on the switch ports you need for each desk that get a phone.

Lync Phones that are smart, easy to configure with detailed logs

I would love to see a smarter bread of Lync phone. I have lost count of the amount of hours wasted configuring Lync phones. They should be simple, plug and play inside and outside the corporate network and have adequate logging. I would love to see a touch screen interface running something similar to the mobile client.
