Currently Lync/O365 allows a user to choose their photo and everyone sees that image. Some users don't have photos, some have obscure photos or random images. Given the status bar showing who's in a conversation shows only people's images (when in its minimal form / saving screen real estate) it's hard to tell who's in the conversation. Allow user to keep a number of stored photos in their profile. Then allow user to change photos on the fly - even in the middle of a Lync conversation session. Useful example would be to show photo based on what project or responsibilitites you are working on that week/month. Would like to disable inline pictures within the chat windows. Chat window have far too much white space and would like to reduce this. I know there is an option within the Lync Client to disable photos, but this is an all or nothing option. The Lync application should still be able to show photos within the Buddy/Contact list and the title bar of the chat window. However I think it is but redundant to have the photo ...more »
I it frustrating to say the least that after you update your own photo it can take 24 hours for it to appear synchronised back in the Lync client. Even then, you have to magically 'know' to turn off the client and restart it, which is what the Windows team boast you don't have to do, leaving everything to sleep all the time.
There should be an option for the user to upload their own picture rather than having to point to a web address in the Lync client.
