When having a group conversation, if a new participant joins or you change the participant view, the window resizes. The same sometimes happens if pasting an image into chat. Presumably this is to accommodate the extra content's size; however it's annoying as generally you place a window where you want it / don't expect it to change. Having this auto-resize as a user preference rather than mandatory feature would allow ...more »
I am up and down from my desk and leave many Lync (Skype for Business) messages hanging. If I open my mobile version, the answers my desktop may have received do not show up on my phone and the previous comments in our discussion are not there, either. Have a persistent updating of both desktop and mobile to keep the conversations in sync only makes sense for people on the go (which is nearly everyone these days). I ...more »
It would be very convenient to be able to optionally dock the tabbed conversations and the Lync main window panel so that when one of them is focused, all are visible - so clicking any of the lync icons from the taskbar bring the whole of lync to the front. Possibly moving the tabs to a tab in the main window would make for more efficient space use (so alongside the GROUPS, STATUS etc tabs). A robust interface customization ...more »
I would like a way to force a user to follow a chat room. I have some IT chat rooms that i use to broadcast important messages to the IT team so i don't have to over use the mail system. I have asked nicely for the IT members to follow the rooms but some still have not. i am not the manager of them so i can't "boss" them to do it, but if i could force them some way in the background that would make my life easier
I miss the GroupChats layout. On that the names were not taking up space between the messages and there was no "air" between the messages. This meant I could see three times as many messages on the same screen space. I could get the overview of a situation much faster, since I didn't have to scroll to get a bit more history.
The same functionality to screen shot or use the snipping tool to grab and share and image should be available in the group chat without needing to do anything other than paste it in the group chat box.
I love the Lync persistent chat room feature but here is a scenario that i would like to resolve. i have a chat room for all IT members and all are allowed in it. some kind of issue arises and i need to tell them all a system is down and being worked on. i make the annocement in the persistent chat room but not everyone is in it cause they close the window and exit the room. now i have send out multiple group ims to either ...more »
Looking for details from several days ago in a busy persistent chat is a complete pain. There is no way to search for relevant information, and no way to quickly view a particular time series. There should be a search function for persistent chats that allows you to specify a time period to search in and/or specific text. For organisations that use persistent chats as a way of logging our activities, this would be ...more »
Lync 2013 Persistent chat has reduced the amount of meaningful information on the screen to about 25% of what is used to be in Chat 2010. Eg: On my screen now, I can see approx. 8 unique entries, but on 2010, on the same screen, I could see over 30 entries. This has (allegedly) made it prettier and aligned it with Outlook etc, but has made it significantly less user friendly, as you have to scroll back through conversations ...more »
Version 15.0.4420.1017; MSO: 15.0.4420.1017 puts a timestamp on each individual post in a persistent chat room. Version 15.0.4623.1000; MSO: 15.0.4615.1000 no longer has that behavior.
Bring back this feature but make it a configuration option for persistent chat.
The conversation history is saved in Outlook and viewable from the client but you cant see the chat history when you open a chatwindow with a user.
It would be good to see the last conversations and last Contact when you start to chat with a user.
The feature was included in Live Messenger and very useful.
So we all use & love the ability to send screen shots/image/or files via lync on 1 on 1 sessions, however alot of times i have been in group chats & needed to share an item with all of the members but am unable to.
