Add -DomainController to New-CsCommonAreaPhone

Enable-CsUser has -DomainController, as do Get/Set-CsCommonAreaPhone. Being certain which domain controller a Common Area Phone is created on would enhance provisioning performance, enabling policies to be granted right after object creation.

This affects large environments with multiple DCs in far-flung locations.

This discrepancy is still present in Skype for Business Server.

Certificate wizard for reverse proxy certificate

It would be nice if you could run the certificate wizard and generate a request to be sent to your public CA. It would be much easier than going through a manual request - especially in environments with many SIP domains.

Skype video integration - is this done yet, or soon?

Microsoft has been pretty silent about this lately - no press or ETA about having the video integration and security completed between Lync and Skype. Does anyone have any news or new information on this? Latest _real_ news or press about this I see was at Lync 2014 conference (Feb/March timeframe) and was imminent, although they made it seem like it was right around the corner over a year ago. My understanding is ...more »

Policy to block file transfers through edge

Right now, file transfers are either enabled or disabled. But some org security groups have heartburn over files leaving the corp network, or going to federated contacts due to data leakage. A policy option to limit file transfers to just internal endpoints, or just org users, would be nice

Deployment wizard should support requesting OWAS and RP certs

It would be nice if there was a wizard that could generate a cert requests for reverse proxy and OWAS farm. That way, it could pull up all the right SANs and other info.

question moderator functionality

In Live meeting there is a Q&A capability that would be useful to add to Lync. With conferences scaling to hundreds its difficult to hold a town hall or all hands and moderate Q&A effectively.

Ideally it would be great to have a means of nominating a Q&A moderator and selecting questions to answer without trying to scroll through loads of IM text.

Lync active call quick access

There should be a dedicated task bar window for active calls. When an active call window is not "on top" it can take too long to expand the task bar icons and click on the active all to get it into the foreground when needing to come off of mute, etc. 2013 client.

Missing features in general

There are several high profile missing features in Lync. Many are ideas submitted in this very forum. There is very little evidence that Microsoft is paying any attention to this site, but we plug away nonetheless. My idea is for Microsoft to actually do something about the missing features. From my perspective, these missing features are the customers' biggest complaints. Hold Music - why can't we just have server ...more »
