Request to take control (for helpdesk)

We have deployed Lync across the company and we want to use it for HelpDesk to shadow users. It would be great for a way to 'take control' of the user's PC without the end user having to initiate it (ie. HelpDesk should initiate the control request and the end user would just see an 'accept/decline' popup)??

Curretnly the user has to offer the helpdesk technician control...

Cheers, Mike

Bring back the pre-SP1 emoticons

In Office 2013 SP1 the emoticons (smileys) in Lync 2013 client was replaced. The old Icon-design were better and more modern. Or even better add the emoticons from Skype.

ability to save a contact's number along with pauses and DTMF

ability to save a contact's number along with pauses and DTMF. In analogue systems you use a 'p' or something as a pause. example: 18005558383p1#p1234 would dial the 800number then after a pause press 1, then pause again and dial the pin of 1234

Ability to manage Hotkeys

There is no way to disable Hot key for audio call. By default it is set to Ctrl + Enter, which is used by default in many other clients. So, when you try to send IMs in Lync 2013 using Hot Keys ( "Enter" in Lync 2013 by default), you're making voice call instead of send message.

Rule based call forwarding

The user should be able to forward calls based on different criteria:

• Caller number

• Caller is in the user’s contact List

• The presence status

• Caller Privacy Relationship

• Time

• Out of office (Exchange) status

• Etc.

The forwarded calls should be able to be transferred to the following destinations:

• Other Lync user

• UM voicemail

• PSTN/mobile number

• RGS

• Team call group

• Etc.

Additional/Expansion of Emoticons

It would be great if there were an add-on or additional downloadable sets of emoticons to expand the set of emoticons that currently exist. I know I am not the only person who wishes there were emoticons that are more useful. Why is there no "Thumbs Up" but there is an image of a sheep? I don't think a sheep has ever come up in any Lync conversation I've had. I'm sure the community would be able to provide additional ...more »

Remove steps from the Lync 2013 Client call transfer process

Lync 2013 has made it even harder than before to transfer a call. Now it takes a hover and 2 clicks before you can key the party you want to transfer the call to. If the user mistakenly clicks instead of hovering on the "handset/mike" icon, they end up accidentally muting themself - presumably at a time that they're still talking to the caller whilst trying to make this complicated transfer process appear seamless. ...more »

Change status to Off-Work based on working hours

Taken from: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ocsclients/thread/46e78cd7-e7fa-454c-8603-55877e9ac5ed

In addition to changing status to "in a meeting" based on calendar information, it would be nice to have the option to change status to "off work" based on work hours defined in Outlook.

"Raise hand" feature in conferences

This would be a nice feature to help prevent people stepping on each other. Essentially click a button to raise a virtual hand that you want to speak.
